Kevin Durant might be getting criticized every single day by NBA fans, but he keeps living a happy life, thinking of hooping and receiving major honors. The Brooklyn Nets superstar just lived a very tumultuous NBA offseason after requesting a trade away from the team, which never materialized.
Now, he’s focused on helping the team win next season, putting in the work with other stars like James Harden, Jayson Tatum, Trae Young, and of course, his Nets teammate Kyrie Irving.
Meanwhile, Durant is being celebrated by those who watched him grow as a player and person, including his alma mater, where he thrived before becoming one of the most exciting No. 1 overall picks in recent history.
Kevin Durant Gets The Ultimate Honor At The University Of Texas
A couple of months ago, it was announced that the University of Texas would induct Kevin Durant to their Hall of Honor, and the ceremony took place this Saturday, with KD obviously attending the event, and cameras followed him around.

During his only season at the university, KD averaged 25.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He was the 2006-07 AP Player of the Year, a consensus first-team All-American and one of the best players the institution has ever seen. This short but incredible stint with the team earned him this honor, and his jersey was also retired by the basketball team.
Now, Durant is trying to make a big impact on the Brooklyn Nets and win the elusive championship he’s been unable to win without the Golden State Warriors superteam. Meanwhile, he’s getting these big honors, emulating what Stephen Curry did with Davidson recently, receiving his diploma and getting his jersey retired by the institution.
