Perhaps one of the most popular names related to NBA memorabilia right now is Michael Jordan.
From his iconic Jordan 1s to else, it seems everything that Jordan touches turns to gold for collectors. Recently, though, one item has broken all records related to Jordan memorabilia. Jordan’s 1998 Finals Game 1 jersey recently was auctioned off for a whopping $10.1 million making it the most expensive sports memorabilia ever.

The previous record for the most expensive sports memorabilia was for the Olympic Games manifesto for $8.8 million.
This is certainly a staggering amount. Given that this was one of the last game-worn Bulls jerseys by Jordan, there is no doubting this item’s rarity. Although Jordan led Chicago to the title win in 1998, the Bulls unexpectedly suffered a loss in Game 1 against Utah despite MJ scoring 33 points.
Given that the Game 1 jersey sold for $10.1 million, one could imagine how much MJ’s last game-worn Bulls jersey would cost. Will this insane record for sports memorabilia be broken anytime soon?
