The NBA can be a bit of a soap opera at times when it comes to individual players and the narratives that surround their careers. Both Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have been exposed to that a lot, especially since KD’s stint with the Golden State Warriors. Curry was perceived as needing Durant to get him to championships despite having won one before he joined, while the Nets man had to listen to how he couldn’t win one without the Warriors superteam.

Well, Curry went ahead and proved his doubters wrong, leading the Warriors to the championship and picking up a Finals MVP along the way. And with Durant seemingly falling out with the Brooklyn Nets, there was wild speculation that he would rejoin the Warriors. That ultimately didn’t end up happening, but Stephen Curry recently addressed the situation in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Curry revealed that he still has a lot of love for KD and that he was excited by the prospect of playing with him again. He also said that he did have conversations with the Warriors about it happening. And certain fans and media members didn’t like that too much.

Skip Bayless Thinks Steph Curry Hurt His Legacy By Revealing That He Wanted To Play With Kevin Durant Again

Skip Bayless is known for his scathing criticism of players when he doesn’t like their play or agree with their actions. He has also been an avid supporter of Kevin Durant, even though the superstar himself isn’t particularly fond of him. And he was quick to respond to Steph’s quotes, saying that it hurts his legacy for him to admit that he wanted Durant back on the Warriors.

How, as a Top 10 player after breaking through and winning your first Finals MVP, say: "Hell yeah, I want him back"? More @undisputed, now on FS1. https://t.co/ljn5jVeJuk

“How as a top 10 player could you then, after you went by yourself and led a team as you finally broke through to win your first Finals MVP, how could you publicly admit, ‘oh yeah, hell yeah, I pushed for us to go get Kevin and reacquire him, he’s a good dude.’

“Well, all that sounds good, but it doesn’t help your legacy. It’s a legacy crusher because he’s saying like, ‘I can’t really win another one without him, I need him to come.”

Curry is one of the most wholesome superstars in the league, so the fact that he would say these things about Durant fits in with his personality. And having become the undisputed GOAT three-point shooter and a Finals MVP, Steph will feel like his legacy is as secure as can be at this point.
