Drake is a long-time basketball fan and the Canadian rapper can often be seen hanging out in NBA arenas. He is on great terms with some of the superstars of the league as well and was recently vacationing with Kevin Durant at Turks and Caicos Islands, as they rode the Jet Ski.
Drake has also been associated with Nike since 2013 and with the exception of some minor squabbles in 2018, it has been a very strong partnership. They also collaborated to release a basketball collection earlier this year, and Drake was invited to host the Nike Maxim Awards in Portland, Oregon recently. During his monologue, he took a shot at Adidas and Kanye West, but he didn’t show up there just to host the show.
Drake Competed With Carmelo Anthony In A Three-Point Shooting Contest
Drake also went to play some basketball at the Nike headquarters where Carmelo Anthony was also present and the two seem to have decided to face off in a three-point shooting contest. It went pretty much as you might have imagined.

Melo came out on top as Russell Westbrook, who was also in attendance, smiled as the whole thing went down. If you were wondering why Melo and Russ were at the headquarters, it was for the Maxim Awards we mentioned earlier. They weren’t the only two NBA stars there either, as Jayson Tatum also made an appearance.
It sure looks like a star-studded event and the employees would have had a great time with so many big names showing up. Melo would have been glad to show up too, as he, unfortunately, has a lot of free time at his disposal.
The veteran remains unsigned this deep into the free agency period, which is somewhat of a shock, as he showed last season that he can still be an effective role player. He has been linked with numerous teams this offseason but nothing has materialized just yet.
A return to the Lakers does not seem to be in the cards, but someone who looks set to feature for the Lakers next season is Westbrook. An exit from LA seemed inevitable for Russ earlier on during this offseason, but Brian Windhorst reported that the team doesn’t like any of the offers on the table, so it looks like he is going to stay. It potentially gives Westbrook a shot at redemption, and for his sake, we hope he does well if he remains on the team.
