NBA Insider Says Anthony Edwards Is Looking Like A ‘Monster’ In Offseason Workouts

Anthony Edwards is a player that many people are looking forward to next season. The former No. 1 overall pick has impressed greatly in his first two seasons in the league, and the next one promises to be even better. The Timberwolves have put themselves in a position to be an excellent team next season, but a lot of their ceiling is dependent on Edwards.

If he can take the next step and start becoming a superstar in Year 3, like Ja Morant did last season, the Wolves could find themselves contending for a title. Draymond Green may laugh at that, and many may think they overpaid for Rudy Gobert, but an improved Edwards alongside Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, and D’Angelo Russell will spell trouble for the Western Conference.

And it would seem he’s showing all the right signs in the offseason, with Timberwolves writer Jon Krawczynski explaining on his podcast that Edwards has been looking like a monster in workouts.

“I’ve had multiple people just say that he looks like a monster,” Jon Krawczynski said. “We will see what happens when the lights come on, when training camp comes in, and the games get going. I have heard a lot of really rave reviews about how Ant is looking.”

Edwards is already scoring 20 points per game, so if he takes a significant leap, it will surely take him into superstar territory. The Timberwolves managed to give a tough fight to the Memphis Grizzlies last season, and they might have even gone to the second round if they hadn’t lost some leads.

A consistent scorer that can be unstoppable when he wants to is what every team needs. And Edwards has shown the potential to develop into that. Whether it translates to games when the season starts is a horse of a different color, but there are very few that would bet against Ant at this point in his career.
