LeBron James Revealed How He Felt About Skip Bayless In 2012: “Great For TV”

Skip Bayless is one of the most committed basketball analysts of all time. His commitment hasn’t been to the sport of basketball but to the disparaging of the achievements earned by LeBron James. We have seen Bayless dismiss LeBron and everything he does on the court for the better part of 2 decades, with LeBron never responding to any of the criticism thrown at him by Skip.

It seems the Bayless treatment is going to continue until LeBron James retires, as he already has a future target after LeBron’s retirement in his 16-year-old son Bronny James. Skip has already started tweeting about Bronny’s ability to play and has already confirmed that Bronny will be a focal point of his show going forward.

There is no way LeBron can like a person like Skip Bayless when Bayless thrives because of his entertaining rants against LeBron. It seems LBJ understood what Skip was trying to do in 2012, as he responded to a fan asking him about the TV analyst by saying he found Skip entertaining, but they had never met.

RT @Nicholas246: @KingJames How do you feel about Skip Bayless?(I don't feel anything! Never met or seen him a day in my life. Great for TV)

— LeBron James (@KingJames) August 26, 2012

LeBron has done a great job by never acknowledging anything Skip says and giving him a bigger platform than what he already has. Giving Skip the attention he wants will ultimately benefit Skip’s profile, so LeBron has always been careful to avoid that outside this tweet from 10 years ago.

As LeBron retires in a few years, he will have to see his son go through the same Skip Bayles treatment he had to endure his entire career. Both father and son will definitely be upset but not act on it and give Bayless any attention.

The consistency with which Skip has built this anti-LeBron persona is remarkable, and credit must be given to him for being as entertaining as he is. Even LeBron knew he was too entertaining a decade ago, so hopefully, Bronny will understand that this is what TV personalities have to do to stay relevant.
