Erik Spoelstra’s ex-wife, Nikki, has finally broken her silence on the rumors swirling around regarding her and Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. Nikki was accused of sleeping with Jaquez, and she took to Instagram to firmly deny that was the case.
“Y’all streets give me way too much power when s*** doesn’t go your way in pro sports,” Spoelstra said. “It’s one thing for you sports fanatics to come onto my page after I made a really big life choice and talk crazy. And it’s another thing entirely for you to come to my page and harass me and call me crazy names over something.
“A rumor, a f***ing story that is 100% flat-out not true,” Spoelstra stated. “And a lot of you are going to be like, ‘Well, why are you even addressing it? Ignore the haters.’ No. Actually you come over here with your dirty feet in my space? I’m going to address you and I’m going to call you out.
“So this little rumor that you sports trolls are going wild about, I would never do that for two main reasons, which I actually don’t feel the obligation to explain to you,” Spoelstra continued. “Just that it would not happen and it’s not real. And while your story might be entertaining with these little plot assumptions, there are so many holes in your story and quite frankly, it’s just really bad storytelling.
“So while all of you guys are entertaining yourselves with fabricated nonsense, I already talked to the girlfriend,” Spoelstra added. “I already talked to the mom and the three of us are over here rolling our eyes at all you knuckleheads.”
The timing of this rumor coming out couldn’t have been worse for Spoelstra. Just days ago, she had put up an Instagram reel in which she was apparently joking about only dating men below the age of 25.
“Only dating men below 25 because they’re easier to manipulate.”
This post of hers added fuel to the fire, but Spoelstra made it clear in this latest post that it was just a joke. She also revealed she had spoken to Jaquez’s girlfriend, Dominique Ruotolo, and his mother, Angela, on the matter, which is quite significant. Why? Well, you’ll understand that when you have a look at the rumor below.
This individual first got suspicious about Jaquez and Spoelstra because the latter had liked many of the former’s posts on Instagram. Those suspicions grew when Angela followed Spoelstra and the individual reckoned she knew about the relationship and was fine with it.
They also added that Jaquez purchased a $100,000 Porsche convertible for Spoelstra, along with expensive jewelry and clothes. The individual claims to have been told that the two hang out around Tyler Herro and his girlfriend too and wonders if other Heat teammates know about the relationship.
All this could well be fake, of course. This individual also accused Jaquez of sleeping with a Heat dancer for over a year and it seems like they aren’t his biggest fan.
Jaquez has struggled in his sophomore season in the NBA, averaging 8.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game in 2024-25. This individual thinks it might have something to do with him sleeping with his head coach’s ex-wife.
Erik and Nikki, a former Miami Heat dancer herself, got divorced in Nov. 2023. They got married in 2016 and have three children together. It was reportedly an amicable split, but she claims to have been harassed over the matter by internet trolls and this rumor would have just been the latest attack in her eyes.
