Shaquille O’Neal was a terror unlike any other on the court during his time in the NBA, but off the court, he is just a guy who likes to have some fun. O’Neal was one of the more colorful personalities in the league during the 1990s as well as the 2000s, and not a lot has changed since retirement.

He now keeps himself busy by being a part of Inside the NBA on TNT, and during the offseason, he likes to DJ around the world. On a recent episode of the “Big Podcast with Shaq”, O’Neal was asked about what he does to relax during his free time from all of his commitments, and he had a hilarious response.

via Sportskeeda:

“I’m married to a girl named couch,” O’Neal said. “I have a side chick named Netflix. I have another side chick named Amazon, and my favorite side chick is Hulu. And they keep me occupied. That’s how I relax. After I work, I like to just go home, sit down, chill.”

“Then, I have another side chick that doesn’t have her passport clearances, her name is hookah. So, I’m occupied.”

O’Neal hilariously stated that his wife and side chicks keep him occupied during his free time as he comes across just like your everyday teenager who sits on their couch and is hooked to streaming services like Netflix. He also apparently has a thing for hookah, and Shaq just seems to be enjoying his life at the moment.

While he has been having his fun, O’Neal has also been busy on the business side of things. He has been expanding his business empire and, during the podcast, stated that he has invested in over 200 companies. It’s good to see Shaq do well for himself in life, and we hope that continues for a long time.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
