Kyrie Irving has some time on his hands nowadays, having been sidelined with a torn ACL, and decided to stream on Twitch on Saturday. At one point during the stream, Irving’s sister Asia walked in and a fan asked the Dallas Mavericks guard to go full screen so he could see her. Irving was understandably not pleased and called out the fan.

“Yo chat, what are y’all doing? Yo, one person could end this whole stream bro,” Irving said. “Don’t y’all dare tell me to put my sister on full screen. What’s wrong with y’all? I know y’all be at home sometimes getting away with this s***, [but] not here, though. Not here, alright? Show some respect, bro. Don’t make me stop my stream again like this.

“I love y’all, I f*** with y’all but no, don’t do this again,” Irving continued. “… I’mma find you bruh. Don’t f*** around with my family bruh. Real talk. I tried to tell y’all. I tried to give them the introduction [Asia] to where we’re from. I’m wearing the Bronx shirt on purpose. I had to let them know we were some trench babies for a little bit… I’m only f***ing around with y’all.”

Irving hilariously made it clear he wouldn’t tolerate such comments. In some ways, you have to admire the boldness.

Asia is Kyrie’s older sister, having been born to Drederick and Elizabeth Irving on Jan. 12, 1991. She graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting and received an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Fashion Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Asia is now the CEO of Aseye Studio and has also launched a new clothing line, Mind Less, with Kyrie. The two have a great relationship, which explains why the nine-time All-Star reacted in that manner.

Irving also had a wild message for his Twitch audience later in the stream on this topic.

“I love y’all who are nice,” Irving said. “I love you guys with passion. I’m just talking about that one comment, two comments that people can’t hold back. Don’t let your thoughts win. Don’t let your gooner thoughts win, dawg. Don’t let your addictions win.”

Talk about a wild stream. Irving, who averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 2024-25, needs to do more of these moving forward and he certainly has time for that. We might not see the 33-year-old on the court again for almost a year as he recovers from that ACL injury.

Kyrie Irving Called Out Former Players In The Media For Hating on Today’s Players

While Irving was in good spirits for much of this stream, his mood did sour when talking about the former players in the media. Kyrie called them out for hating on today’s players.

“They have lost their way,” Irving said. “I will say their names when I address them when I see them in person — but there are some former players that just talk sh*t. They don’t even talk about anything and just hate on the players. And then you have young players looking up these older players and we looked up to them. We valued their journies, we respected their journies.

“We wanted to get close to them and then when you see somebody you admire go on TV and say ‘Get over it because you make more money’ I’m so sick of that f**king excuse bro,” Irving added. “That you’re not allowed to feel because you make a lot of money in the NBA and you get paid and people on Twitter crucifying people that are making millions of dollars because they’re not playing in the game because they’re injured.”

Irving is just the latest to call out former players for their negative coverage. They appear to have no interest whatsoever in promoting the game and would much rather talk down on the current generation.
