Older generations of basketball stars often feel like their eras don’t get enough respect, but the one truth of sports is that the eye is quite often on what happens in the future more than the past. While the NBA’s legends have left amazing legacies, it’s true that as the game evolves, the younger generation continues to improve certain aspects of basketball itself.
The NBA has evolved from being a center-oriented league to a guard-focused one, with outside shooting now being arguably the most valued attribute among players. The game has moved behind the three-point line and players like Stephen Curry are now the ones that younger players try to emulate.
Curry has received some backlash for this, something he has spoken out against, but it’s evident to see that handles and shooting have become a more integral part of the game. And this was exemplified by a viral video of an 8-year-old, whose skills on the court left NBA fans in awe.

A lot of factors go into making an NBA star, and as talented as this kid is, he will need to keep up his work and grow to a good height to make it to the league.
