“Kyrie To The Lakers Sounds Ideal Until Him And Anthony Davis Combine For 15 Played Games In A Season”, NBA Fan Destroys Potential Lakers Duo

3 Min Read

LeBron James is turning 38 years old in December 2022, reinforcing the fact that he is in his career twilight and will most likely think about retirement soon. It is also going to be his 20th season in the NBA and the season where he will look to become the all-time leader in points scored in the league’s history.

LBJ has done his part for the Lakers after leading them to the 2020 championship. It’s time for Anthony Davis to step up and become the heir to LeBron and take control of the team with LeBron playing to further highlight AD. However, injuries have stopped Davis from being consistently on the floor and has put an immense load on LeBron through the last two seasons.

After missing the playoffs last season, the Lakers have looked to add Kyrie Irving to enhance their offensive versatility. Lakers fans are salivating at Kyrie and Davis possibly being the future duo of the team as LBJ takes a step back.

A fan decided to burst the bubble Laker fans started living in and reminded them that Kyrie and AD are notorious for not being able to stay available for long stretches of a season.

Someone needed to say it and calm expectations down. Outside of COVID, Kyrie tends to take his liberties when he wants to be on the court. People expect Irving to be motivated to win after the drama in Brooklyn and him reuniting with James, but this is a real concern many fans have overlooked.

Davis hasn’t been healthy enough to get on the floor consistently for two seasons; what changes in the third? Unless the players themselves are tailoring their summer workouts around increasing durability and being available for their team for at least 65 games of the 82-game season, not much can be done to help LA.

For the sake of Lakers fans, everyone will be hoping AD and Irving have great performances for the team if Irving actually gets traded to them for the season.
