Draymond Green On His Motivation To Win More NBA Championships: “LeBron Has Four And If I Get Five I’m The Greatest Ever, Right?”

If you thought Draymond Green ran his mouth a lot before he won his 4th championship, then get ready to see him take it even a step further after this latest triumph. Green has been keeping receipts from all that was being said about the Warriors this season, and he has spent a lot of his time firing back at their doubters.

He claimed they’ll win 3 of the next 4 championships, and it’s honestly a bit surprising that he didn’t say they’ll win all 4, considering the way he’s been talking. Draymond was on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah when he was asked about his motivation for winning more, as many would just rest on their laurels after all this success, and he had a hilarious response to that.

(starts at 3:56 mark)

“Well, LeBron has four and if I get five I’m the greatest ever right?” He went on to say, “Honestly, like that is the challenge. Like, can you do it again? Like the moment we finished, I’m standing up on the podium and this is crazy. Like it is wild. How do we get back here? My biggest fear when we won the first one was that this feeling was so great I will never feel this again in my life. So you just are chasing that feeling again, and quite frankly, like I said before this season, nobody has proven that they can beat us.”

We’re sure LeBron chuckled when he heard his good friend make that joke. Draymond is extremely confident about their chances at winning more titles, as he says no one has proven they can beat a healthy and complete Warriors team in the playoffs.

A healthy Clippers squad that will add John Wall to the mix seems to be the biggest threat to them repeating as champions next year, and LeBron will also be hoping that the Lakers can turn it around so that he can perhaps make one final run at the title.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
