The revival of Andrew Wiggins has been one of the best stories of the 2021-22 NBA season. When Wiggins entered the league, he was expected to be the next big thing in the league.

But after drafting him using the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded him without even letting him play a single game for them. He then tried his luck with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His stint with the T-Wolves was full of disappointment.

So much so that many believed that Wiggins’ hopes of becoming a genuine star were over. However, Wiggins’ career took a turn for the better when he was traded to the Golden State Warriors.

Since making his debut for the Dubs, Wiggins has only improved his game. He even made his first All-Star appearance this season for his contributions to Warriors in making a comeback.

Now, in the playoffs, he has become a vital part of Steve Kerr’s system and continues to impress everyone in the NBA community. Although Wiggins is in a good place in his career right now, one might wonder if he still wants to seek revenge on the Cavs, who traded him without even letting him play a single game for them.

Well, the Warriors forward’s true feelings were revealed in an interview with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Via Yahoo Sports:

“I definitely had them circled on the calendar. I knew exactly when they were coming for sure. I was ready. I wanted to show them what they were missing, show them I’m doing better over here. That was my mindset back then. It was always fun and competitive playing a team that had traded you. It wasn’t an easy experience to go through, but I feel like that’s what kept me motivated and competitive.”

Well, this motivation did the magic for the 27-year-old. He has certainly played well so far in the playoffs and in the NBA Finals.

If Wiggins can win the 2022 NBA Championship as a part of the Warriors, it should be enough for his revenge against the Cavaliers.
