The Warriors And Celtics Have Almost Entirely Gotten Their Best Players Through The NBA Draft: “It’s About Built, Not Brought”

In a couple of weeks, the winners of the 2021-22 NBA season will be decided. This season, many teams were labeled as a real threat to win the title. After all, during the offseason, several teams bolstered their rosters and added various superstars to their franchises.

But when the dust settled, it was the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors who qualified for the 2022 NBA Finals. No doubt both teams are immensely talented, but there is a huge difference between them and other teams.

While most franchises have tried to build a roster by trading or signing players in the offseason, the two 2022 NBA Finalists have created almost their entire roster by waiting patiently and grooming players that they drafted in the NBA Draft.

Looking at this post by “Basketball Forever,” it becomes evident that both teams’ front offices have done a great job of giving the players that they drafted a chance. The end result? They are now competing to become the champions of the league this season. NBA fans loved this and had nothing but praise for both franchises:

brian_kelley15: “Built not bought you love to see it it’s a new era in the NBA.”

j.a_papahood: “Great players!!, but I don’t root for the celtics ‍♂️.”

ceno_rebel: “Which makes KD decision to join looks even more crazy because they successful with or without him.”

kidjewelz: “Naw respect but took a lot of patience cause they were taking Ls.”

arty.z_: “Built not bought is the way. cant wait for the players that build super teams to finally be out of the league.”

bigtbeatz810: “I didn’t realize brown was drafted before Tatum.”

mgwellings: “Dynasties are BUILT, not bought .”

___dlb___: “Real teams not superstars marchandising.”

chuck_franciscus: “Funny no one talks about Wiggins or Horford who are both huge parts of their teams.”

immmk2_: “I mean last year finals was like that just a few trades but yeah this is all home grown.”

goneidiosyncratic: “I don’t think Celtics will win, but with this group, they’ll be back.”

peterb827: “Much respect to teams who can draft well, develop players and win with only adding role players.”

It’s great to see fans appreciate the efforts of both franchises regardless of the end result.

As for the verdict of the 2022 NBA Finals, the Warriors have already proved how good their home-grown talent is previously. But this is the first time that the Boston Celtics’ young core has had a chance at showing their worth to the entire league.

If they can somehow win this year’s ring, it will be forever remembered as one of the best championships in the history of the franchise.
