The ‘Didn’t Play A Single Minute This Season’ Starting Lineup Could Be A Superteam: John Wall, Jamal Murray, Kawhi Leonard, Ben Simmons, And Zion Williamson

Oftentimes, we can go through an NBA season, and many players currently on an active roster will not play a second of basketball. This could be due to multiple reasons; injuries, falling out with the franchise, or them trying to demand a trade and accepting the guaranteed money they get from their contracts.

But some of the names that didn’t play this season are quite noteworthy, and putting them together on a roster would create the NBA’s next dominant superteam.

One NBA fan on Reddit did just this, as u/Haveyoureaditb4 made a starting 5 picking from players that haven’t played a single minute of basketball this season.

This formidable starting lineup included John Wall, Jamal Murray, Kawhi Leonard, Zion Williamson, and Ben Simmons. The bench players included were Jonathan Isaac, Dario Saric, TJ Warren, Kendrick Nunn, and James Wiseman.

With the talent available to this squad, there is no doubt that they would be one of, if not the best team in the NBA. But considering the availability problems the team would pose, one could say that they wouldn’t be as successful as people think.

Out of all the players on the team, John Wall, Jamal Murray, Zion Williamson, Kawhi Leonard, James Wiseman, TJ Warren, Kendrick Nunn, Dario Saric, and Johnathan Isaac were out mostly due to injury.

Ben Simmons is the only player who was available to play but refused to take the court, as part of his lengthy saga with the 76ers. Upon arriving in Brooklyn, Simmons still didn’t play, as he suffered a back injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Let’s hope that there aren’t many season-long absentees next season to make a starting 5 like there was this year.
