The Eastern Conference Finals series between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat has concluded with a Boston Celtics victory in Game 7. This marks the first time that the Boston Celtics made the NBA Finals during the Jayson Tatum-Jaylen Brown era of their franchise.

After their Game 7 win, Marcus Smart ended up sending a message on Twitter, seemingly pointing out that at one point people speculated about a “split” in the Celtics locker room, as well as stating that they are a “family” while adding that they have “4 more” wins to go.

Some said a split.
We said a family.

Earlier in the year, Marcus Smart called out Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown for not wanting to pass the ball. There is no doubt that the team did end up figuring things out, though, and they are finally a team that can get to the highest stage and potentially win it all:

“Every team knows we’re trying to go to Jayson and Jaylen. Every team is programmed and studied to stop Jayson and Jaylen. I think everybody’s scouting report is to make those guys pass the ball. They don’t want to pass the ball. That’s something that they’re going to learn. They’re still learning.”

“We’re proud of the progress they’re making, but they’re going to have to make another step and find ways to not only create for themselves but create for others on this team to open up the court for them later down in the game where they’re always going to have to take those tough shots or take tough matchups when they do get the 1-on-1 or they bring the trap. It’s something we’ve been asking them to do and they’re learning. We just gotta continue to help those guys do that… There’s only so much I can do when the ball isn’t in my hands and I’m standing in the corner.”

Hopefully, the Boston Celtics are able to show out on the highest stage. They will need to be at their best to beat the Golden State Warriors, but they definitely have the ability to do so.

These Finals will be a tough physical series, as both the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors are known for their defensive ability. However, both teams can also explode offensively, so perhaps we will see some high-scoring games as well. Regardless, we will watch some amazing basketball in the Finals, and there is no doubt that the games will involve both teams fiercely battling to win it all.
