Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the world but that has never stopped him from being extremely active on social media sites like Twitter. While many of his contemporaries use it as a means to engage with fans in a friendly manner and ignore the haters, KD usually comes out all guns blazing.

Thankfully, yesterday wasn’t one of those days when he was blasting some hater on social media, but he instead first gave some of his thoughts on what determines the best player in the world. When an account asked a follow-up question on what would be his top 10 right now, KD refused to answer it, instead stating that it disrespects the beauty of the game.

“Top 10 lists disrespect the beauty of the game, ima stop doing these. I feel like “the best” fluctuates, there are so many talented players who produce at a hall of fame level every night. It’s exhausting figuring it out.”

It is a fair point to make. The sheer number of high-quality players in the league right now is ridiculous and trying to make a top 10 list can be hard when these things fluctuate seemingly every other week. Try it for yourself if you want and an unbiased view will probably leave you with around 15-18 players in contention for it every other week.

It’s safe to say though, that KD will be a lock on your list if you do look to make one. Serious doubts have been raised regarding Durant’s status as arguably the best player in the league after his Brooklyn Nets were swept by the Boston Celtics in Round 1, but there can be no arguments against KD being a top 5 player at worst. He would be keen to right the wrongs of this season and come back with a vengeance in the next one, so as to remind the NBA world once again that he belongs in that conversation of being the very best of the lot.
