Draymond Green is one of the most outspoken players in basketball. There’s no doubt that he is someone who doesn’t hold back when talking to or about others, and that was on display recently.

After the Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6, Draymond Green sounded off on Kendrick Perkins, calling him a “big ogre” and generally roasting the analyst:

“I saw somebody say I’m scared to shoot the basketball. Scared and me in the same sentence… a big ogre on TV talking about what Draymond say ain’t the gospel. It is the gospel. What I say is the gospel,” Draymond said. “When you say that multiple times on several different segments, you must think what I say the gospel. So, you know, you gotta come out and shut some guys up sometimes.”

“These are people who get employed on TV to talk about our game… You make that pass, I would like to see it. I played against that guy by the way, I’m talking about Kendrick Perkins for those of ya’ll who don’t know.”

Most recently, Draymond Green responded to a fan who claimed that Kendrick Perkins was “chasing smoke” with him, claiming that he is the one that makes Kendrick Perkins “more relevant”.

Of course. I make him more relevant.

Kendrick Perkins is an analyst that is known for speaking his opinions on the game, no matter how many people disagree with him. It is unlikely that we see him stop saying how he feels about the happenings in the NBA, and one of the valuable things about him is that he’s willing to go against the grain with his takes.

It remains to be seen how long this beef will continue. The two have had a history of taking jabs at each other, and there’s no telling when it will stop. Hopefully, they find an amicable resolution to their differences in the future.
