The Dallas Mavericks just lost Game 5 to the Phoenix Suns, in a massive blowout in Phoenix. While the game was close at halftime, the Phoenix Suns had a massive 3rd quarter which ended up getting them the win.

After the game, Luka Doncic was caught on camera trash-talking the Phoenix Suns, claiming that everyone is “tough” when they’re up. There is no doubt that Luka Doncic is not happy with the way that the Phoenix Suns acted during the game.

Everybody acting tough when they up.

Luka Doncic is no stranger to trash-talking, and it is clear that he can back it up due to his ability. Once, Luka Doncic even claimed that trash-talk makes the game “fun”, and added that “there’s always talking” in the NBA.

I think it’s still there. I think it’s always gonna be there… In the NBA, there’s always talking… Especially in that Clippers’ playoffs, there was a lot of talking. For me that just makes the game fun. Guys that are competitive, I’m very competitive. I think it’s always gonna be there, especially in the playoffs, it just makes the game fun.

There is no doubt that Luka Doncic is a spectacular player, but he won’t be able to beat the Phoenix Suns by himself. Even coach Jason Kidd has previously stated that Luka Doncic’s teammates need to step up with him. Every player needs a co-star to win championships. Michael Jordan never won without Scottie Pippen and having someone to take on a portion of the offensive load definitely helps in terms of competing for championships.

The Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic will have an opportunity to even up the series in Game 6, which will be in Dallas. There’s a solid chance of them being able to do so at home, though the Phoenix Suns obviously shouldn’t be taken lightly.
