James Harden and Joel Embiid are one of the most dangerous duos in the NBA today. Harden and Embiid are two offensively skilled players who can take the game over at any point in time. Harden wasn’t able to have much of an impact last night in Game 3 against the Toronto Raptors. But Joel Embiid was on the court and in good form, as he sank an incredible game-winning shot in Overtime to get the win.

After the game, James Harden was asked about Joel Embiid and his game-winning shot. Harden simply quipped that Embiid was the MVP of the league, an award Joel Embiid is in contention for this year. Clearly, Harden was also in awe of what his teammate was able to do and felt as though it was further vindication for his case to be named the Most Valuable Player of the entire league.

Embiid winning the MVP would only add to the accolades that this duo holds. Harden is a former MVP in his own right. And if Embiid wins, they will be a duo with 2 MVPs, something only a few duos in the league have been able to say, such as Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwon, and Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.

Harden, for his part, did not have a great night, as he fouled out of the game. Harden exiting the game meant that Embiid would have to close out the game and get the 76ers a win by himself, which he did. Tyrese Maxey spoke after the game about Embiid’s performance, saying that it was crazy, but Joel is just one of a kind. Embiid has taken his game to another level this year and is considered the favorite to be named the MVP come the end of the season.
