The Brooklyn Nets were recently defeated by the Boston Celtics, after a game-winning layup from superstar Jayson Tatum. However, the game was close throughout, and it definitely wasn’t an easy win for the Celtics.

Kevin Durant had a tough night in Game 1. The superstar put up a quiet 23 points on 9-24 shooting and 1-5 from the 3PT range. When asked about the Celtics’ defense on him, he claimed that the Celtics players “did a good job of making me see bodies” and also stated that he has to “slow down and play my game”.

They did a good job of forcing me away, and helping in the paint. I just gotta be more fundamental with my moves, I feel like I had some shots go in and out for me. I played fast and turned the ball over. I’ve just got to slow down and play my game, but they did a good job of making me see bodies”

Based on what we’ve seen from Kevin Durant in the past, it is quite likely that he won’t continue being inefficient throughout the series. He is one of the best scorers to have ever touched a basketball, and there is no doubt that he will figure out how to get past the Boston Celtics’ defense at some point. He is a proven championship-winner with plenty of experience as well, and some consider him the best player on the planet.

This series looks as if it could be one that goes the full 7 games. The Boston Celtics are clearly a championship contender and the Brooklyn Nets are definitely a team that many thought would be in the same position at the start of the season. Both teams have plenty of star power and seem evenly matched based on the results of this game. Hopefully, we see more games similar to this one in the future.
