Over the years, the NBA has changed beyond recognition. But if there is one thing that is common, it is the fact that there have been amazing players in each era of the league.

Now it might be the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. If we look at an even older era, i.e., the 1960s. At the time, two players, in particular, dominated the league. We are talking about Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.

While Russell is known as the biggest winner in NBA history. He won 11 NBA rings, which to this date is by far the most NBA rings won by a player while being the best on it.

On the other hand, Chamberlain is arguably one of the most dominant players in the league’s history. He has a ton of amazing accolades to his name. But even among those accomplishments, scoring 100 points in a single game is without a doubt the most amazing one.

Speaking of this accomplishment by Wilt, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant talked about it. KD also talked about how hard it is to score 100 points in a game regardless of the era.

Via Thesportsrush:

“You hear someone score 100 points in a game and you never feel like that’s attainable. As much as we got confidence in ourselves, 100 points is a lot of points to score in a regulation game. It’s like hearing Zeus, it’s that legend, that myth around those guys.”

As Durant pointed out, it is comparable to Greek god Zeus. After all, the myth around those players is simply that great.

Although the league is currently much more focused on scoring huge numbers each game, there is a very low chance that fans will ever see Wilt’s heroics being repeated anytime soon. Even if someone has a chance to do it, it will probably be someone like KD himself.
