D. J. Augustin is a veteran point guard who last played for the Houston Rockets. He is a steady player who knows how to play his role, and he is adept at handling and shooting the ball. He is shooting 40.6% from beyond the arc this season.

The last team that D. J. Augustin played for was the Houston Rockets, though he was released at the trade deadline. However, it seems as though he will be getting another shot in the league.

Shams Charania has recently revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers will be signing D. J. Augustin. It seems as though DeAndre Jordan will be cut to create space on the roster for the point guard.

The Los Angeles Lakers intend to waive DeAndre Jordan and sign free agent guard DJ Augustin, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Lakers are bringing in a veteran, accomplished shooting PG to back up Russell Westbrook.

The Los Angeles Lakers have notably struggled with inconsistent shooting from their supporting cast all season, and there’s no question that D. J. Augustin could provide some help with that problem. While he won’t push them from being a play-in tier team to being a contender, he can still help them perform better on the offensive end.

We will see how big of a role D. J. Augustin ends up playing on the Los Angeles Lakers. His shooting could open some things up for them though, and this is a solid acquisition by the Los Angeles Lakers front office.

There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers have been a team that has not been able to deliver on the expectations people had for them at the start of the season. Many thought they were one of the better teams in the league. The Lakers have been inconsistent this year, and hopefully, they are able to hold on to a play-in tournament and potentially salvage the rest of the season by making the playoffs.
