In 1992, Team USA put together one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled. With names like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, and David Robinson, the legendary “Dream Team” achieved fame and unprecedented dominance on the world basketball stage.

No doubt, Michael Jordan (even before completing his first 3-peat) was one of the biggest stars on the team and his performance made Team USA practically unbeatable during their run.

Earlier this week, some fans reflected on Jordan and the ’92 Dream Team, sharing a few photos of him representing the country.

Jordan helped bolster the strength and popularity of the Dream Team, but it also helped expose Michael to the world.

In the early 2000s, Jordan admitted publicly that his participation in the 1992 Olympics was a turning point in his career.

“The Dream Team blew it wide open,” Jordan told the late John Thompson. “I think that was when I couldn’t go anywhere in the world and walk the streets. I used to go to Paris or Milan and just walk the streets, and no one would know. I could sit outside with my family and friends and just enjoy. But ever since the Dream Team, things have just totally gone berserk. No matter where I go in Europe, it’s no different than the States.”

Jordan hasn’t played an NBA game in nearly 20 years. After retiring for the third and final time in 2003, he moved on to other ventures.

But the legacy he left behind as a Bull and as a competitor for Team USA will always remain strong. The guy had a game and personality that is larger than life, and it’s no wonder that even almost two decades later, people are still looking back on all the amazing moments he created throughout his iconic career.
