Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown make up one of the most promising young duos in the NBA. Both players are scorers who can explode offensively and create their own shot, and they have enjoyed a fair amount of success already in their careers, making multiple Eastern Conference Finals together.

Despite their amazing individual play, many people have suggested that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should be broken up by the Boston Celtics due to fit issues. A previous report from December even suggested that we could hear “conversations about the future of Boston” within the next 12-18 months, with Jaylen Brown reportedly being the one “heading out the door” in a trade.

I think this is definitely the beginning of the end for the Jayson Tatum – Jaylen Brown pairing. I don’t know if that will get broken up this season. But I think sometime in the next 12-18 months we’re really going start to hear about to hear the conversations about the future of Boston with Jaylen Brown heading out the door.

With that being said, the Boston Celtics have picked it up in 2022, and they have a 15-5 record in their last 20 games. The talk about splitting the duo has also died down recently since they started winning.

Jayson Tatum has recently criticized the idea that he and Jaylen Brown should be separated, pointing out that they’ve had success together and that neither of them has reached their prime yet. (2:15)

I think it’s really picked up this year… If you think about it, we’ve had way more success together than this year and what we didn’t accomplish last year.

JB’s been in three Conference Finals, I’ve been in two… We’re both still very far from our prime. I think what people don’t understand is, if you want to break us up, the grass is not always greener.

There’s not a lot of guys in the NBA like JB… I couldn’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to have two of the best players that are under 25 on your team… We’ve won way more games together than we’ve lost.

There’s no doubt that the Boston Celtics are doing well under Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s leadership recently. The acquisition of Derrick White has certainly helped as well, as he has added some more playmaking and defense to the team.

Hopefully, we see Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown achieve team success on the Boston Celtics in the future. They are both extremely talented, and perhaps one day, we’ll see them get to the Finals and win a championship.
