LA Clippers Incredible Comeback Against The Washington Wizards Is The 2nd Biggest In The NBA In Since 1996

Despite not having either of their superstars, the LA Clippers put on a performance for the ages. After going down by 35 points against the Washington Wizards at one point, the LA Clippers fought back to pull off an incredible comeback and defeat the Wizards 116-115.

The Clippers have made a bit of a habit of making comebacks this season. But with this one, they made quite a bit of history. The Clippers completed the 2nd biggest comeback in NBA history since 1996. The only team to have had a bigger comeback than the Clippers were the 1996 Utah Jazz, who came back from a 36-point deficit.

The Clippers overcame a 35-point deficit Tuesday night against the Wizards. That is tied for the 2nd-largest in the play-by-play era (since 1996-97).

This comeback is the biggest one in the history of the LA Clippers. Amir Coffey led the Clippers in scoring with 29 points, whereas Luke Kennard came off the bench to score 26 points, including some big shots for his team in the comeback. This was a truly gutsy performance from the Clippers.

Wizards’ star Bradley Beal was extremely unhappy with his team’s performance, as he should be. What makes this showing from the Clippers even more impressive is that they did it without their two All-Stars, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. George is expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Whereas Kawhi Leonard is expected to return sometime toward the end of the regular season, or around the beginning of the NBA playoffs. The hope within the franchise is that they can secure a playoff spot or at least a spot in the play-in tournament, and Kawhi can help the team make a run when he returns.

Can the Clippers secure a top-seed in the Western Conference? With teams like the Warriors, Suns, Grizzlies, and the Lakers in the running to have a playoff spot, they have their work cut out for him. But the Clippers have shown that they are capable of beating any NBA team on any given night.
