Joel Embiid is one of the best big men in the league, and there is no doubt that he has been playing at a high level all season. Joel Embiid is currently averaging 28.7 PPG, 10.7 RPG, and 4.3 APG this season.

Brian Scalabrine has recently lauded Joel Embiid’s recent performances, stating that it’s “ridiculous” that Joel Embiid has dominated this many games in a row since he missed time, and added that one can “pencil” Joel Embiid in for 30 points a night.

Just the way he’s played since he missed that time… You run through his stats… It’s just ridiculous how many games he’s dominated in a row.

The old Embiid would not do that… Right now, you can almost pencil him in for 30 points… This is like the big man coming back. He is the most dominant big man that we’ve seen… you want to go back to Shaq? You want to go back to Olajuwon?

He is so dominant right now with his back to the basket. And he can step out and knockdown a 3 or pick and pop from 15. Probably one of the most complete big men we’ve had in the league.

There is no doubt that Brian Scalabrine makes a good point. Joel Embiid is a three-level scorer, and he has improved his passing game this year. He is even averaging more points than minutes in the 2022 calendar year. There is a legitimate argument that Joel Embiid is the most physically dominant player in the league, and should definitely be in the MVP conversation.

The Philadelphia 76ers currently have a 28-19 record, and there’s no doubt that Joel Embiid deserves the majority of the credit for getting them there without Ben Simmons. While the 76ers aren’t viewed as a contender currently, they could definitely be a dangerous team if Joel Embiid continues playing as he has.
