LaMelo Ball is one of the most entertaining players to watch in the entire league. He is well-known for his flashiness and playmaking ability, and there’s no doubt that he’s one of the best point guards in the game currently.

Currently, LaMelo Ball is averaging 19.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 7.6 APG. There is no question that those are great offensive numbers, and there are definitely fans who believe that Ball should be selected to the All-Star game this season.

It is fair to say that LaMelo Ball is an All-Star caliber player, but Kendrick Perkins has recently gone further and claimed that Ball is a superstar. It seems as though Perkins’ argument comes from Ball’s impact on the game, as he stated that Ball is a “household name” and that “every kid in America loves LaMelo Ball”. (2:00)

“When I think of a household name every kid in America loves Lamelo Ball. … He’s at the point where you can call him a superstar!”

I’m in AAU gyms every single weekend, with 300-500 kids. Guess what, a name that comes up every single time someone walks up to me is LaMelo Ball. That’s what I’m trying to explain… When I think of a household name, every kid in America loves LaMelo Ball, and right now, he’s at the point where you can call him a superstar.

Every single person’s definition of the term “superstar” will be different. LaMelo Ball won’t be looked upon as a superstar by the majority of people. However, there’s definitely something to be said about how much influence LaMelo Ball has on fans, and he is definitely extremely popular. Some have even stated that Ball could become the face of the league in the future.

The Charlotte Hornets have done relatively well under LaMelo Ball’s leadership this year. They are currently the 8th seed, and they have won 5 of their last 7 games. They currently have a play-in tournament spot, and they could potentially make the playoffs outright if they move up to the 6th seed in the future. Hopefully, we see LaMelo Ball get to the postseason, as he will certainly be great to watch in a playoff setting.
