Russell Westbrook’s arrival in Los Angeles has been rather chaotic. After fans hailed his arrival for the entire summer, his play so far this season hasn’t exactly lived up to their standards.

As a low-efficiency, turnover machine, Lakers fans have quickly gotten to know a different side of Russ, and it’s the one that media members have been bashing for years.

Despite all he provides, certain aspects of his game often become a detriment to the team and it often sparks heavy criticism.

In a recent video, the reality of Westbrook’s negative stats became the subject of jokes on Instagram. The clip, which features Westbrook peering over LeBron as he looks at the stat sheet, went semi-viral online with fans coming together to share a laugh.

Of course, this reaction is to be expected after L.A.’s most recent losses against Memphis. On the same night that the Warriors got to enjoy the return of Klay Thompson, L.A. saw the end of a 4-game win streak. To top it all off, it was probably Russ’ worst game of the season, as he finished with 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, on 16.7% shooting.

All things considered, Westbrook was pretty bad and his play has been subpar pretty much the entire season.

And whole the details of his contract may keep him in town for the next two seasons, that doesn’t mean he is immune from fan backlash. In fact, if things don’t change soon, the slander could get even worse for Russ as frustration mounts.

For, now all we can do is watch and see how it all unfolds.
