Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies once again got the better of the Los Angeles Lakers. In a tough battle between the two teams, Ja and Memphis came out on top, beating the Lakers in a 104-99 game. Ja and LeBron went at it on the court, both playing some magnificent basketball. But Ja wasn’t the only member of the Morant family facing off against LeBron James.

In a video that has since gone viral, Ja Morant’s father can be seen heckling LeBron James. While Morant’s father doesn’t say anything disrespectful or rude, he did poke fun at James after a three-pointer. Even LeBron was seen laughing, clearly taking the interaction well.

Ja Morant has reacted to this video, as he didn’t realize it had happened during the game. Morant shared the video, and called his dad a clown, jokingly. He also showed love to them, appreciating his father sticking up to LeBron James, despite him holding more than his own against the Lakers’ superstar.

“these two some clowns . my dawgs”

Clearly, everyone involved in the incident was just having fun with their time on the court. And it was a perfect example of why the NBA can be so much fun. Positive fan interactions with players are exactly what the NBA is all about, and it also shows the power the league has as a premier source of entertainment.

Kendrick Perkins has even gone as far as to say that Ja Morant will be the next Giannis Antetokounmpo for the NBA. While the two players are extremely different in playing style, Perkins meant that he could bring a championship team like Memphis, which has been a small market team.

Morant has been on fire this season and has been playing some of the best basketball of his career so far. And more so, his best performances have been against some of the best players and teams in the NBA, such as the Warriors and the Lakers. There is no doubt that he will be an All-Star this season.
