DeMar DeRozan was one of the best free-agent signings of the last offseason, and the midrange-oriented forward has helped the Chicago Bulls to the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. He is currently averaging 26.8 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 4.5 APG for the season, and it’s clear that he’s playing at an All-NBA level.

On an episode of the Knuckleheads podcast, DeMar DeRozan revealed what led him to join the Chicago Bulls. He stated that he like what the team was “building” and added that he was “always” a fan of Zach LaVine.

What they were building… When they made the move for Vucevic midway through the season last year, I was like “let me see what it is”… I’ve always been a fan of Zach, hell of a player, hell of a talent. He deserves everything that’s coming his way… Lonzo Ball, another player that has so much potential… It just felt right. It was something that I wanted to be a part of… Imagine going there and winning in Chicago.

There is no doubt that the Chicago Bulls have a lot of talent, and they have shown that they are a real contender this season. As of right now, they look like they could compete with other Eastern Conference powerhouses like the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets, and there’s no doubt that the playoffs will be exciting.

DeMar DeRozan clearly believes that the Chicago Bulls have the ability to do something great, and thus far, they have definitely been stellar. While not many believe they can win the 2021-22 NBA championship, anything can happen in the NBA. Hopefully, we see the Chicago Bulls make a deep playoff run this year, and perhaps we’ll see them surprise us all once they get in the playoffs.
