Montrezl Harrell Calls Out Joel Embiid After Getting Ejected: “If You’re So Tough, Stand On That My Dude.”

The Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid are currently 6th in the Eastern Conference after getting past the Washington Wizards in a blowout win. One of the notable moments of the game was the altercation between Joel Embiid and Montrezl Harrell.

Montrezl Harrell was ejected after getting two technical fouls. One of them was handed out after he and Joel Embiid got into a minor scuffle, with the duo both getting technical fouls. The second one came after Harrell pushed Joel Embiid in another play, with Harrell clearly being frustrated at the exit.

After the game, Montrezl Harrell called out Joel Embiid when speaking to the media, telling Embiid to “stand on” his toughness. It seems as though the point of contention from Harrell was Embiid pointing and complaining to the referees to get Harrell a second technical after a light shove from Harrell himself.

He got an and-one, he want to yell in my face and stuff like that, I pushed him out my face.

He was the one to step back and point, ‘Oh, oh, I got pushed!’ Stand on your toughness,” Harrell said. “If you’re so tough, stand on that, my dude. Don’t start nitpicking and pointing and wanting to do the telling when the ref walk in, my guy. Stand on that. I am, I got tossed, it is what it is. I wish it wouldn’t have been in the situation that it was in, but I don’t regret it.

The altercation between the two is now over, and both teams will likely try and move on to their future games. While it is true that Montrezl Harrell technically did deserve to get ejected, it is clear that he wasn’t willing to back down from Joel Embiid.

The Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards both have the same record right now, and both will be competing for a playoff spot. This year, the Eastern Conference is stronger than it’s been in quite some time, and we’ll see which teams prevail and get to the postseason.
