LeBron James was a national sensation long before he even entered the NBA. He was a high school phenom whose exploits led to some regarding him as the greatest high school basketball player ever.

LeBron recently shared an old clipping from a magazine on Instagram where he proudly mentioned he was the only Junior on the USA Today All-American Team in 2002. The page also gave some insights into LeBron’s mind back then, such as the fact that Kobe Bryant was his favorite player.

LeBron James

We have never really heard LeBron mention this previously, which is why it was a bit of a surprise. James has talked about his admiration for Michael Jordan on numerous instances, but it appears at least back in 2002, his favorite was Kobe.

LeBron also stated he is an unselfish gentleman here and he is certainly quite unselfish on the court. That is just how he was wired from a young age and nothing has changed all these years later.

We also find out that Earth science was his favorite subject thanks to his teacher, Mr. Peltz, who made it a fun learning experience for him. One wonders considering how much he liked it, how LeBron really felt when Kyrie Irving claimed that the Earth is flat.

LeBron James Recently Made His Best Sports Movie Pick

LeBron has a fair bit of time on his hands now as we are in the offseason and he recently revealed his pick for the best sports movie. Funnily enough, it was one on him, as he picked “Shooting Stars”, a move on his high school career.

NBA fans certainly didn’t seem to agree with him and while it really isn’t seen as the greatest you really can’t blame LeBron for being a little bit biased there. The movie was actually based on his 2009 memoir of the same name. He’d have been delighted to see it turned into a movie, and it finally released last month. It has received favorable reviews so far as well.
