Draymond Green is well-known for being the defensive anchor for the Golden State Warriors. He was the leader for the DPOY award prior to his injury, and the Golden State Warriors have sorely missed him while he has been out with a back injury. Currently Draymond Green is putting up 7.9 PPG, 7.6 RPG, and 7.4 APG.

The Warriors have clearly been struggling without their best defender and playmaker, but his return seems to be on the horizon. Adrian Wojnarowski has recently revealed that Draymond Green should be back in 7-10 days.

I’m told 7-10 day on a return for Draymond Green. He had a workout after the Warriors’ practice in LA… It’s gonna not be a moment to soon. This is a team that for the first time in four months has dropped to 2nd in the league in defensive efficiency… Certainly you know what he brings for them defensively. One of the great defenders in the history of this league.

Hopefully, the Golden State Warriors see Draymond Green return sooner rather than later. They are currently on a 4-game losing streak, and they have looked out of sorts on both ends of the floor without Green. They are clearly not a championship-contending level team without him, and Stephen Curry even alluded to as much previously and claimed that the Warriors aren’t going to be “anything great” without him.

We’re all built in terms of trust and chemistry, and to have a guy like [Green] who is very vocal, high IQ, has a certain approach to leadership, all that stuff matters,” the Warriors star said. “Understand that, especially without Draymond for this extended stretch, our offense is a little different…There is a lot more responsibility in terms of playmaking, being on the ball and handling that attention. You lean on the other pieces to keep the boat afloat, but we’re not going to be anything great with how we’re built,” Curry said. “[Green] is obviously a big part of that.”

Perhaps the Golden State Warriors will get back to winning ways after Draymond Green returns. His passing ability will ensure that their ball-movement-based offense will run more smoothly than it has been in recent memory.

The Golden State Warriors are still the 2nd seed in the Western Conference, and they will be hoping to continue to solidify their position as a top-2 team in the West. It’ll be exciting to see them back in the playoffs, and Draymond Green will be crucial to their success there.
