The Minnesota Timberwolves lost their second consecutive game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the fourth overall. This team started the season with a 3-1 record, but things have taken a bad turn ever since that.
Minnesota is now 3-5, ranking 11th in the Western Conference. After losing to the Clippers on Friday night, nobody was happy with the performance, especially second-year player Anthony Edwards. The shooting guard wants to reach the next level with his squad, but things haven’t been easy for them lately.
After the 104-84 defeat against Tyronn Lue’s team, Ant-Man expressed his frustration with the team’s performance and their lack of consistency during games.
“We have spurts of playing good, then we play bad and don’t pick it up.” Edwards said, via Chris Hine of the Star Tribune. “It’s tough.”
Moreover, Edwards said the coaches always push him to go to the rim. Yet, he’s not happy being the only one attacking the basket.
“Yeah, if I ain’t going, then all the coaches looking at me like ‘Go to the rim!’ I’m like ‘I’m the only one going to the rim.’ I get it, man. I have fun with it. I don’t know, man,” he told Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press.
Ant is seen as the future star of this team. Even though they have Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell on the roster, the 2020 No. 1 overall pick is expected to lead this squad in the future.
He’s not the only one unhappy with the current situation. Towns recently said their 3-game losing streak could become 18 or 20. Right now, they have lost four games in a row and seeing their performance against the Clippers, it doesn’t look like they will lift the level shortly.
They need to make the right adjustments to improve their performance. The T-Wolves want to compete this campaign, but that job seems really hard to carry out.
