Michael Jordan is regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. Usually, MJ’s name is taken whenever fans talk about being successful in the league.

But how did Michael Jordan become such a successful person? Was he an overnight success? Absolutely not. Arnold Schwarzenegger explained Mike’s success in the league in a motivational clip.

“Michael Jordan said in one of his interviews when they said, you’re are unbelievable, you’re the greatest player of all time, tell me about that,” Schwarzenegger said. “And he says, ‘Well, you’re just mentioning the successes.’ But he says, ‘For me to become the greatest basketball player, I missed 9,000 shots.’ Does it make him a failure? No. We all fail. It’s okay. What is not okay is that when you fail, you stay down. And winners will fail and get up, fail and get up. You always get up. That is a winner.”

Schwarzenegger used Michael Jordan’s example to motivate everyone who wants to become successful in life. Even the great Jordan wasn’t an overnight success. Instead, he worked hard over the years and overcame his failures to become successful.

The above-attached clip shows the commercial that Arnold was referring to where MJ talked about how he became successful in the NBA by learning from his mistakes. He even did so prior to winning the sixth ring of his NBA career when the entire world thought the Jazz had an advantage over the Bulls.

Michael Jordan’s Amazing Success In The NBA

Michael Jordan is undoubtedly one of the biggest names to ever play in the league. Be it on the court or off the court, there is hardly anyone that can match the level of Mike’s popularity in the basketball community.

While there are many reasons behind the respect that MJ has from the community, his achievements on the court are definitely the biggest reason behind it.

In his phenomenal career, Jordan won six NBA Championships for the Bulls by completing two 3-peats among other achievements.

At the end of the day, Mike would have never managed to reach that status if it wasn’t for his ability to learn from his mistakes and improve his game. You can watch an amazing video on Michael Jordan’s winners mindset below:
