  • Lakers big man brags about his hands after intense offseason workouts
  • Davis has been doing boxing workouts to stay fit this summer
  • AD is facing pressure after signing an extension with the Lakers

As Lakers star Anthony Davis prepares for one of the most important seasons of his entire career, he’s sparing no expense to ensure his mind and body, are ready for the long grind of an NBA season.

For Davis, part of his summer routine involves boxing, which is an effective way to stay in shape during the offseason. Apparently, AD has been training often enough that he’s become confident in his technique, going so far as to brag to his teammates about his ability to throw hands.

“He’ll walk around and tell everybody he’s got hands,” Reaves said on the ‘Full Send’ podcast. “I don’t really know. I don’t box. So, I ain’t got no critique.”

The comments were a direct reaction to an old workout video of Davis throwing punches in the gym — a clip that went viral online.

AD usually keeps to himself in the summer, but this year he’s letting us see the work he’s putting in. Davis, 30, is entering a new stage of his career following his latest sting with the Lakers.

Heading into this next campaign, he’ll be expected to lead the show as LeBron James takes more of a backseat. Davis has embraced the challenge so far, and it looks like he’s trying his best to stay in shape and keep his body healthy for the upcoming season.

AD Is The Future Of The Lakers

The only path to success for the Lakers rests on the shoulders of Anthony Davis. At his best, he’s one of the best in the world and his combined efforts on offense and defense are enough to keep any team in contention for a title.

This year, however, the pressure is mounting for Davis after signing a three-year extension worth $186 million.

Besides just playing well, the real mission for Davis is just staying on the floor. As the poster child for poor durability, he must stay healthy for the Purple and Gold to have any real chance at the title. Fortunately for the Lakers, it looks like he’s using his off time this summer to get his body in the best shape possible.
