The Golden State Warriors won the 2022 NBA Championship a couple of months ago. It was an incredible effort by the franchise since they missed the playoffs over the last two seasons.

This time around, the Dubs proved the value of experience as they never let the Boston Celtics get into a commanding situation in the NBA Finals. It proves how far the Warriors have come since winning their first NBA Championship back in 2015.

Speaking of that championship run, it was the beginning of the Warriors dynasty as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green started to blossom into star-caliber players.

The Warriors were a bit lucky in the finals as they faced a depleted squad of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anyway, after winning the NBA Championship, the Dubs were invited to the White House by the then-USA president Barack Obama.

It’s a well-known fact that Obama is a huge basketball fan. He has been several times enjoying basketball games in the NBA from courtside seats as well. Anyway, when the Dubs were invited to the White House, Obama didn’t miss any chances to roast the team.

He had some great roasts, but unarguably the best by him was when he talked about the presence of the greatest team in NBA history in the White House and then directed his comments towards Steve Kerr for being part of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

(Starts at 2:20):

“Now, it is rare to be in the presence of the guys from the greatest team in NBA history. So we’re pretty lucky today because we’ve got one of those players in the house – Steve Kerr from the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.”

Obama utterly roasted the 2015 NBA champions at the White House. But it was all in good faith, and that’s why players from the Warriors’ team burst into laughter.

Fast forward to 2022, the Warriors have now won four NBA Championships in the last eight seasons, and they look in great shape to win a couple more rings in the near future.
