It is entirely possible to build an NBA team that will win five straight championships in five seasons under a salary cap of $200 million. By selecting players in their primes between 20 and 30 years old, this superteam will be primed for deep playoff runs without much risk of attrition, exhaustion, or injury.

  • Starters – $145,967,079 Spent
  • Bench – $50,883,995 Spent
  • Total Spent: $196,851,074
  • Why Can This Team Win 5 Titles In 5 Years?

Therefore, players such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant will not be chosen because they will be old and not in their prime in the next 5 years.

Rule: Using 12 player contracts from the 2023-24 season

Starters – $145,967,079 Spent

PG – Luka Doncic ($40,064,220)

Luka Doncic is chosen at point guard because he is an unselfish passer even though he can also dominate his matchup offensively. Averaging 33.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game this season, the Slovenian will be the head of the superteam because of his triple-double abilities. Even when the game is on the line, everyone knows where the ball is going because Luka will make the right play.

SG – Anthony Edwards ($13,534,817)

At shooting guard, an offensive threat is needed alongside Luka Doncic. Specifically, he needs to be a player who can give 40 minutes per night consistently over five years, and set the crowd alight with superb feats of athleticism. Budding superstar Anthony Edwards is the perfect player in the backcourt.

SF – Jayson Tatum ($32,600,060)

Jayson Tatum is not only an elite go-to scorer who can take over games at times but an improved defender who will do his job crashing the boards and playmaking as well. The superstar forward is simply tough to handle when he is surrounded by stars, so imagine what he can do with Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards beside him.

PF – Victor Wembanyama ($12,160,632)

Victor Wembanyama is an impactful big man on both ends of the court, even if he is still a rookie. The face of the San Antonio Spurs franchise is posting 21.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game this season and will only get better over the next five seasons. Tall enough to be a dominant center but versatile enough to be a power forward, the Frenchman will be hard to stop with his superstar teammates beside him.

C – Nikola Jokic ($47,607,350)

No surprise, two-time MVP and NBA champion Nikola Jokic starts at center. The triple-double machine is a perfect fit with Luka Doncic at point guard because the basketball IQ will be off the charts. The Serbian will not only do his job scoring in the paint and rebounding but will lead the fast break at times to form one of the best starting lineups in NBA history.

Bench – $50,883,995 Spent

Tyrese Haliburton ($5,808,435)

Tyrese Haliburton is the perfect backup to Luka Doncic because he can provide floor spacing (39.5%) and playmaking without any drop-off. Halliburton is the modern version of Steve Nash when it comes to leading a unit with his ball-handling and passing ability, and he can be a terrific sixth man with the ball in his hands game after game.

Tyrese Maxey ($4,343,920)

Offensive point guard Tyrese Maxey is an energizer bunny and a terrific offensive player who can get hot in a few minutes. He is averaging a career-high 25.8 points per game this season and is also very unselfish when it comes to looking for his teammates along with creating for himself. Maxey can also fit well alongside Luka or Haliburton in the offense as a versatile option.

Jalen Green ($9,891,480)

Budding star Jalen Green is a terrific offensive player and is only getting better with the ball in his hands. Averaging 19.9 points per game this season and showing flashes of absolute brilliance, Green can be the perfect player to replace Anthony Edwards’ athleticism and scoring ability when he heads to the bench. At 22 years old, Green will also be able to run up and down without getting tired.

Jalen Williams ($4,558,680)

Versatile forward Jalen Williams is another talented young player who can do it all without getting tired. He can spot up for threes, pass the ball well, and help with rebounding. As a role player behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren in Oklahoma City, Williams will bring energy and hustle to an already stacked roster.

Jonathan Kuminga ($6,012,840)

Jonathan Kuminga is coming. He is getting better defensively and his offense has massively improved since his rookie season. Averaging a career-high 16.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, Kuminga is exactly the type of athlete and defender that is needed to bolster a team that is filled with offensive star power.

Evan Mobley ($8,882,640)

Evan Mobley is one big man who can do a job protecting the rim without giving up much offensively. Mobley is a terrific shot-blocker who can run the floor and rebound while being able to finish around the rim. Giving Wembanyama and Jokic a rest is necessary, and Mobley can bring a defensive presence when he comes into the game.

Chet Holmgren ($10,386,000)

Dealing with the 7’4” Wembanyama is difficult enough, but defenders will have to worry about 7’1” Chet Holmgren when he comes into the game as well. Could Holmgren even play alongside Wembanyama? Absolutely. The big man can do it all on the court and can fit nicely alongside any big man on this roster. Bringing shot-blocking and high basketball IQ, Holmgren will be a nasty player to handle as a backup.

Total Spent: $196,851,074

Why Can This Team Win 5 Titles In 5 Years?

This team is poised for unprecedented success with a perfect blend of established superstars and emerging talents. Anchored by the generational talent of Luka Doncic, a triple-double machine and unparalleled leader, the starting lineup boasts dynamic scoring options in Anthony Edwards and Jayson Tatum, defensive prowess with Wembanyama, and elite passing from reigning MVP Nikola Jokic.

The bench is equally formidable, with Haliburton and Maxey offering reliable playmaking, Green and Williams adding youthful scoring energy, and Kuminga, Mobley, and Holmgren providing defensive versatility and rim protection. It is rare to find a team’s bench that does not have some sort of drop-off, but this unit is packed with scorers and elite defenders.

There will be no competition for these young stars because each player can contribute 48 minutes if necessary and bring excellent all-around impact. This roster’s synergy and cohesion, fostered by a competitive and coachable environment, make them strong contenders to secure five consecutive titles in the next five years, and it would be impossible to defeat them in any series.
