The 2021-22 NBA season’s one of the biggest stories is the rise of the Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant. The 2019-20 ROY winner was expected to one day become an elite player in the NBA and it seems like Morant has finally taken that step in just the third season of his career.

This season, his amazing performances are the biggest reason for the Grizzlies’ successful campaign. In fact, the franchise is on an 11-game winning streak after their recent win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As usual, Morant was one of the focal points in this victory. He had a near triple-double performance and got one step closer to becoming an NBA All-Star for the first time in his career. Earlier this season, when he was asked if he deserves this honor, Morant gave an epic answer.

There are many fans who want to see him get the recognition that he rightfully deserves and becoming an NBA All-Star will be a vital step in that. On the other hand, there are a few who do not think that Morant deserves this honor.

Regardless of the opinion, one thing is certain that the Grizzlies’ guard has done enough for his name to be known by almost every NBA fan. He seems to have a likable personality and the way he plays on the court certainly plays a huge part in it. Despite that, it seems like the NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley doesn’t like Ja Morant.

In a recent episode of “Inside The NBA,” Chuck joked about not liking Ja for a very weird reason. He revealed:

“Ja Moraaant-Morant, whatever. First of all, I told ya I don’t even like the kid because anybody who has two letters in their name can’t be real. Just kidding Ja Morant.”

Chuck was quick to mention that he was just kidding about not liking Ja. After all, Morant is someone who always makes sure to reply back to his critics. Be it with his performances or simply by tweeting out an insult.

Hopefully, no die-hard Morant fans were hurt by Barkley’s comments. Otherwise, he might get a lot of backlash for a harmless little joke.
