The Chicago Bulls completed their 2-game season series against the Los Angeles Lakers on a high note, defeating LA at the United Center. This is their second win against LA this season, thus ending their series against them with 2 victories. Many of the players that performed well for the Bulls were linked to the Lakers very recently.

DeMar DeRozan had a spectacular performance against the Lakers, scoring 38 points against his hometown team. Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, two former Lakers stars combined to put up 36 points between them. All three players sent a message to the Lakers, one that the Chicago Bulls NBC account pointed to on Twitter.

As has become a tradition for them, the Chicago Bulls NBC Twitter account took shots at the Bulls’ opponents, this time it was the Lakers. They put out a Tweet about how players on the Bulls took revenge on the Lakers for rejecting them at different points over the last few years.

The Lakers turned down the chance to re-sign Alex Caruso this offseason, even lowballing him by offering him $15 million less than what the Bulls offered him. Bulls Talk were not the only ones to roast LA, as Benny The Bull, Chicago’s mascot, made fun of them for doing the same.

As for DeMar DeRozan, he revealed that he was close to joining the Lakers in the offseason, and said that he did try to make it happen.

But the move did not go through, and he joined the Chicago Bulls instead. It’s safe to say that move has worked out very well for him, as he and Zach LaVine have formed an incredibly good duo, one that matched Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal recently.

Lonzo Ball was heralded as a future star for the Lakers, as they drafted him second overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. But within just 2 years, he was made part of the trade package the Lakers sent to land Anthony Davis. Since then, he has gone from New Orleans to the Bulls, where he currently is playing very well.

These players were able to send a message to the Los Angeles Lakers during their game against them. Perhaps the Lakers will be regretting letting these players go, given how they have been performing recently.
