David Griffin Believes That Zion Williamson Is Already A Top 10 Player In The League

2 Min Read

Before Zion Williamson came into the league, he was most people’s consensus #1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. There is no doubt that it was the right pick: Zion Williamson’s combination of athleticism and skill has allowed him to dominate inside the paint. Currently, Zion Williamson is averaging 27.0 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 3.7 APG, despite this year being only his second season in the NBA.

Some players adjust to the NBA better than others. It seems as though Zion Williamson has had a seamless transition to the NBA, as he is putting up superstar numbers offensively. Recently, David Griffin has claimed that Zion Williamson is already a top 10 player in the game.

There are a lot of good players in the league, and Zion Williamson looks like he will be a perennial All-NBA selection for years to come, and quite possibly a future MVP. What he is doing on an individual level is special, even though the New Orleans Pelicans ended up missing the playoffs. There is a good possibility that Zion Williamson will be one of the faces of the league in the future.

It seems as though the New Orleans Pelicans realize what sort of talent they have on their hands. When you have a unique player like Zion Williamson, you have to surround him with the right pieces and try to win a championship. Currently, Zion Williamson has a solid co-star in Brandon Ingram, but there are still some steps the Pelicans need to take in order to become a playoff team, and eventually a contender. Hopefully, we see Zion Williamson in the playoffs sooner rather than later.
