Patrick Beverley is well-known as one of the best defensive guards in basketball and has developed a reputation as a solid veteran presence in the locker room. Seemingly every team that he is on makes the playoffs.

Recently, Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan spoke about what Patrick Beverley brings to the team. DeRozan lauded Beverley for his “intensity” and “energy”, also noting that the point guard “holds everybody accountable”. Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times relayed the news.

“When you’ve got a guy like Pat Beverley on the team, the intensity that he comes with, the second he came in the energy he brings, you’ve got to follow that,’’ DeRozan mentioned. “He holds everybody accountable and is going to compete at a high level. When you see a teammate with that type of mentality, you’ve got to follow behind that, and I think you saw that.’’

It will definitely be interesting to see how Patrick Beverley does with the Chicago Bulls for the rest of the season. He is currently averaging 6.4 PPG, 3.1 RPG, and 2.6 APG for the season while shooting 34.6% from the 3PT range. He got traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic and then secured a buyout to join the Chicago Bulls.

Patrick Beverley Wants To Knock The Lakers Out Of The Playoffs

Patrick Beverley is a competitor, and he often tries to win at any cost. Previously, he claimed that he wants to eliminate the Los Angeles Lakers from the playoffs, noting that the team has to beat them to get to the postseason themselves. Those two games will be must-watch contests for fans of both teams, especially after Patrick Beverley’s recent statement.

“We play the Lakers twice,” said Beverley. ” I want to knock them out the playoffs. We gotta get in the playoffs, so excuse us.”

The Chicago Bulls have two All-Star level players in Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, and there is no doubt that the roster has talented players. They could end up making the playoffs this season, and there is no doubt that Patrick Beverley will be crucial in making that happen.

Hopefully, we do see the Chicago Bulls get to the postseason. They could definitely be one of those teams that is a dangerous lower seed, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
