Even though Derrick Rose doesn’t play much for the New York Knicks these days, his teammates and the team’s fans generally appreciate him for the leadership that he brings to the table.

Recently, the New York Knicks crowd even chanted Derrick Rose’s name, demanding that the point guard be checked into the team’s blowout win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

It is clear that fans overall appreciate what Derrick Rose adds to the team, and it is good to see the point guard on a team where he gets this kind of ovation and applause.

Derrick Rose is currently averaging 5.8 PPG, 1.5 RPG, and 1.8 APG for the New York Knicks. He did have a solid season in 2021-22, putting up 12.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 4.0 APG for the team, while also shooting 40.2% from the 3PT range. He could definitely put up those numbers again if given the minutes, and perhaps he’ll end up going to a team that gives him solid playing time at some point later on.

Derrick Rose Is A Target For The Phoenix Suns

Derrick Rose is a name that has been floated around as a potential buyout option ahead of the end of the season. Recently, it was revealed that Derrick Rose is a buyout target for the Phoenix Suns.

“The buyout market is relatively bare at the point guard position at the moment,” said Chris Haynes. “However, there is a primary candidate the team is monitoring, according to sources: New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose”.

There is no doubt that joining the Phoenix Suns would give Derrick Rose a legitimate chance to win a championship. He could even contribute to the Phoenix Suns as a solid backup point guard behind Chris Paul, as he has some experience playing as a sixth man.

It will be interesting to see if the Phoenix Suns make any more moves on the buyout market. They were also linked to Carmelo Anthony, and it is clear that the team is looking for solid veterans that know how to play their roles. Carmelo Anthony is still a solid shooter now, and it would be amazing to see him win a championship prior to him officially retiring.

The Phoenix Suns are definitely the favorites to get out of the Western Conference this year, as they have one of the best duos in the league in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. They have a good chance of winning it all simply based on their talent level, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
