Devin Booker On Losing Two Games Against The Lakers: “Glad We Had Those Two Losses”

For the first time since 1993, the Phoenix Suns are back in the NBA Finals. That’s longer than Devin Booker’s been alive.

Nonetheless, the young star has been outstanding throughout the playoffs, playing like a veteran even though he had never reached this stage in his young career in the Association.

Booker has been more mature in every aspect of his game. But his mindset has also helped him stand out from the rest of the players of his generation, as you can tell by his latest statements.

Devin said that he’s actually glad that they lost a couple of games to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round because that helped the group come together and bring out the best in them:

“We experienced the Lakers series. I’m glad we went through that, I’m glad we had those two losses because you learn so much in that time… Having going through that experience, you know, shaped us for the next series,” Booker told the media.

Plenty of people thought the Suns would crumble to the pressure and cave to the reigning champions Los Angeles Lakers in the first round but that was far from the case.

Even if Anthony Davis hadn’t been hurt, the Suns looked like the better team from start to finish, only struggling when Chris Paul had that lingering shoulder issue.

The Suns look like a cohesive unit and a team that plays with hunger and desire. Every player looks like he’s willing to die for his teammate, and that’s the kind of spirit you love to see at that stage.

Now, the revamped and inspired Phoenix Suns are just four wins away from winning their very first NBA Championship.
