No one misses a chance to take a shot at the Golden State Warriors for blowing up a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Joel Embiid took a shot at the Warriors in 2019 when the Philadelphia 76ers were up 3-1 vs. the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. Now four years down the line, Draymond Green clapped back at Embiid. It came in light of the 76ers blowing a 3-2 lead in the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

“This hasn’t aged too well for Jo.”

Embiid had trolled the Warriors when the 76ers took a 3-1 lead over the Nets. For what it’s worth, the 76ers didn’t blow their lead.

“It was really important because we wanted to get this one in and go home and try to finish it. Feels great to be up 3-1. We definitely don’t want to be in a situation like the Warriors three years ago.”

To be honest, one cannot blame Embiid for trolling the Warriors. After all, at the moment, the 76ers superstar wouldn’t have thought about getting roasted by Draymond Green four years down the line.

The Philadelphia 76ers Have Fired Doc Rivers After Blowing A 3-2 Lead

The Philadelphia 76ers entrusted the job of coaching the team to Doc Rivers. But Rivers wasn’t successful in leading the organization past the second round.

Keeping that in mind, Doc Rivers’ firing didn’t come off as a surprise to anyone. Well, that’s not quite true. Joel Embiid was apparently unhappy with the decision.

“He was very close with coach Rivers and, yeah, he was shocked about the change. It’s my job to help convince him that the new coach is someone that he’ll have a great relationship with as well.”

While Rivers has taken the blame for the 76ers’ blowing a 3-2 lead, Joel Embiid should come out unscathed. After all, he won the MVP award in the regular season and was expected to be the best player in the playoffs.
