The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will not go down in the history books as a night of sensational basketball. We saw the East put up over 200 points in their win, but the performances didn’t leave anyone inspired. This includes Draymond Green, who was commentating on an alternate cast for TNT with Charles Barkley.

As Karl-Anthony Towns put up 50 points in the game, with most buckets coming in garbage time, Draymond made a cheeky comment about this being what most of KAT’s career has been.

“This is like the old Minnesota days. KAT got 40, they down 20.”

Towns is on a contending team for the first time in his career this year, as the Wolves entered the All-Star break with the No. 1 record in the West. KAT wasn’t alone, as teammate Anthony Edwards was also named to the All-Star game.

Funnily, the Wolves lost a game earlier this season to the Charlotte Hornets where the team became focused on helping KAT stat-pad in a 60-point game, which ended with the Wolves blowing a massive lead.

There was no lead to blow this time around, as KAT got extended time on the court late in the game as he got to put up his points with no resistance.

Charles Barkley And Draymond Green Are An Elite Announcing Pair

The duo of Charles Barkley and Draymond Green dropped countless gems on the night. The pair were constantly taking shots at each other throughout the night, as well as the players on the floor. One of the funniest interactions between the pair came when Barkley decided to troll Green out of nowhere.

Charles Barkley: “You know what’s funny about that? You know who was asking about you the other day?”

Draymond Green: “Who?”

Charles Barkley: “Nobody!”

Barkley continued to mock Draymond towards the end of the broadcast, wishing Green luck in the play-in tournament, prompting Draymond to make a cheeky comment about championship rings.

Charles Barkley: “It’s been a pleasure to work with you, Dray. You’re a hell of a player, good luck in the play-in.”

The most out-of-pocket comment came when Chuck and Draymond were discussing San Francisco with Candace Parker and Reggie Miller, with Barkley making public comments about the unsafe nature of the city.

Charles Barkley: “Hey Reggie, if you had the chance to be in the cold or be around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco, what would you choose?”

Candace Parker: “We love San Francisco”

Charles Barkley: “No we don’t. You can’t even walk around down there.”

Draymond Green: “Yes you can.”

Charles Barkley: “Yeah, with a bulletproof vest!”

The pair have had some incredible moments on the mic tonight, though both Barkley and Green have taken shots at players today. Green’s comment about KAT can be dismissed as light-hearted given it talks about his past. Barkley made a comment about Kevin Durant where he said the 14-time All-Star is a follower and not a leader, which could wrinkle some feathers later.

Given the times we have seen Draymond and Barkley on TV together, it’s easy to see that they’re an entertaining pairing who could one day be co-hosts of a show together.
