Dwyane Wade is easily one of the most beloved NBA superstars of the 2010s. While he was despised as a member of the infamous Miami Heat ‘Big 3’ with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, he earned a lot of love from the fans during the latter half of his career. Despite injuries accelerating his regression, Wade kept trying to win on whatever team he was on even after he left the Miami Heat.
Wade would ultimately return to the team for a final season and retire as a team legend. His jersey is already hanging in the rafters of the FTX Arena, and he has settled comfortably into his post-retirement life as a businessman.
His subbing out basketball sneakers for polished formal shoes doesn’t mean that he still dedicates that level of time to just his work. Through retirement, Wade has been able to spend more time with his family as well. He was seen doing exactly that on a $14.5 million yacht that allegedly cost Wade $250,000 to rent out. The 3-time champion had a blast and shared a video of him jumping off the top of the yacht into the ocean.
Dwyane Wade Has Done Great Things Since Retiring From The NBA
After Wade’s 2019 retirement, which saw him end his NBA career after earning over $200 million in contracts over 16 years, Wade started looking toward the business world. He laid the foundation for this in 2018 when he signed a lifetime contract with Chinese sneaker brand Li-Ning, which has since signed various NBA players like D’Angelo Russell, Jimmy Butler, and C.J. McCollum.
Wade bought a minority ownership stake of the Utah Jazz in 2021 and is the co-owner of MLS team Real Salt Lake City. He hopes to one day own his own sports franchise but is slowly building towards that.
He co-founded Proudly, a company that makes baby products, with his wife, Gabrielle Union. In addition, Wade owns a wine company called ‘Wade Cellars’, along with a stake in the media company ‘Players TV’. He’s working hard as a businessman, so he deserves the time he’s spending with his family, having a blast on his yacht.
