Dwyane Wade responded to one of the toughest questions in the NBA world with relative ease, picking between two of the most talented scorers we’ve seen in the league in the past two decades or so.
The Miami Heat legend is visiting plenty of shows this week, talking about old stories his wife allegedly made up, but also reflecting on NBA-related topics, including one debate that’s getting more attention in the first weeks of the 2021/22 season.
Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are the two biggest favorites to win the MVP award this season, and several fans started debating which one is the best player. This discussion reached new levels when Dan Patrick asked Wade who he would pick between Curry and Durant if he was a general manager.
Wade, just like the rest of us, had a tough time trying to figure that out, but he ultimately went with Curry (6:08).
“That’s a tough one, I’m gonna go with Steph.”
“Well, it won’t make any sense. You can close your eyes and pick. But I guess I went with Steph because Steph has kind of revolutionized the sport you know. He’s one of those Mount Rushmores from the sense of changing the game the way he has. And so, I give him that little a little nod.”
This is a very difficult question, and Wade expressed that better than anybody. Still, Curry is one of the most influential players in the history of the game. He’s the main reason why the NBA is a 3-point-driven league right now. That won’t change anytime soon, as every single team in the association builds their squad centered around shooters.
Stephen Curry has left a huge mark on the game. It’s easy to see why Wade sided with him on this one, but it’s also easy to see why he would have gone with Durant. He’s arguably the most talented scorer in the league history and somebody who could do a lot for any squad.
Better than picking between them, it would be awesome to have him together on the court. This happened from 2016 through 2019. Right now, they’re on different teams, but the memories this duo left are unforgettable.
