Elfrid Payton’s Mom Calls Out Knicks, Tom Thibodeau For Starting Derrick Rose

2 Min Read

Elfrid Payton’s mother wasn’t happy with Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks for benching her son in Game 3 of their first-round playoffs series vs. the Atlanta Hawks.

Trae Young and co. took care of business and led the Hawks to a comfortable 105-94 in at State Farm Arena to take the 2-1 lead in the series. After the game was over, Payton’s mom took to Twitter to blast the Knicks for putting Derrick Rose on the starting lineup.

Truth be told, Rose has been ballin’ this season and plenty of people believe he should have started earlier in the series. The veteran is playing great basketball, and if the Knicks had a chance to compete against the Hawks last night, it was all because of him.

Of course, it’s hard watching your son getting relegated to the bench, but this was the right move to make for the New Yorkers. Fortunately, they couldn’t get the win and now will try to tie the series this Sunday.

Rose scored 30 points on Friday and it doesn’t seem like Thibs will change his lineup for the next game. Payton has played 13 minutes this series, which doesn’t sound promising for him.
